Earlier this year while travelling I finally bought the Fuji x20. I did quite a bit of research before buying this x20Strapcamera and to date I still like it a lot. First of all it looks great! It’s got a real retro look. And with the matching retro strap and bag I bought it looks even better. Second: it’s packed with features. It has a manual control for zoom, optical range finder, superb macro, burst shooting and a pop-up flash and there’s even an option to add an external flash using the hotshoe on top. Another nice feature is the HD video and a high-speed movie setting.

All these features in a compact camera that I can easily carry around. Another side benefit is that people are more inclined to let you take a picture as the camera is not as intimidating as a big DSLR. The 28-122mm f2-2.8 lens is superb and the camera sensor produces nice and crisp images. So much so that the recently released Fuji x30 (the successor to the x20) has the same lens and sensor (the big difference is the bigger battery and an electronic viewfinder). The one downside of this camera is battery life. I’m not going to do an in-depth review here, as there are plenty around (like this one). But I will tell you that this camera is a great all in one package, it’s worth a look if you are looking for a new pocket camera.

I’ve added a few pictures from my own x20 to this post so you can judge for your self.

I guess good things do come in small packages.
